Family Fun

Here's another photo-heavy post, this time about what we've been doing over the past couple of weeks.  :)

Elora likes to play guitar with her dad.  Sometimes they both play, sometimes she just sings and dances while he plays.  We're going to have to make sure that she really learns to play at some point.  It's something of a Gager family tradition.  :)

We took the girls to the playground again.

Bran and I took turns with them, one of us playing with Elora and the other hanging out with Kaylie in the shade.

We've been playing outside at home.

My mom bought the hat while she was here, and Elora just loves it.  For that matter, so do I!

And we've been watching Glee on Netflix.

I love my family.  :)

Spring Portraits

When Elora was born, we shelled out the cash to have professional maternity and newborn photos done.  They're amazing, and I would have loved to do the same again with Kaylie, but it just wasn't in the budget this time.  So while mom was here, we took apart the den and rearranged it into an improvised photo studio.  My pictures are no where near as good as Leslie's, but they'll do.  These are my favorites:

I need to just go ahead and sign up for some online photography courses.  I really enjoy doing it, and I would love to have a better idea of what I'm doing.

My Mom's Visit

My mom came up to see us at the end of March.

Brandon and I are still operating with only one vehicle, so Mom rented a car to give us some mobility while she was here.  It was great that she did!  There wasn't a day that she was here that we didn't go running around, at least a little bit.  I was still fatiguing quickly, so we would go out for a few hours and come back to the house to just hang out and play with the girls.

One of the days, Rebekah came over and went with us to check out a little pottery studio in our area.  Neither Mom nor Rebekah painted anything, but as it turned out, the girls and the cameras did a perfectly good job of keeping them both occupied.

I helped Elora paint a Father's Day gift for my dad,

and we got some footprints from Kaylie.

The ones that I did are barely recognizable as baby feet, but the ones that the guy did turned out great.  I think I'll let them help me from now on.

We had a great time!  I wish we'd taken more pictures, but we kept forgetting about our cameras.  Mom was only here for a week, and it went by way too fast.  At least now that we live closer, it will be easier for her to come and visit.  :)

Elora's Birthday

Not surprisingly, I'm way behind on posting.  A lot of my time and energy goes into keeping Kaylie fed, clean and diapered.  Most of what doesn't go to Kaylie goes to Elora, and Brandon and I get whatever is left over.

I'm loving it.  But I know the family has been asking for news and pictures, so I thought I'd make time to catch up a bit, starting with Elora's birthday.  She got a HUGE box of goodies from her Gigi and Papa a few days before her birthday.

On her birthday, we made cupcakes...

...we sampled cupcakes...

...we picked out and set up her new aquarium...

...and we sang Happy Birthday.

Then, Oma (my mom) took Elora birthday shopping while she was here, Rebekah continued her campaign to keep Elora in fabulous shoes, and we'll be having an official party for her when Brandon's family gets here.  Elora is well on her way to being Seriously Spoiled, if she isn't there already.
